Art Foundation — Showcase Identity 2020
AF Condensed is a font drawn for the Lincoln School of Design’s Art Foundation course. The concept is to condense the broad exploration and learning that occurs throughout the year, supported by the alternate characters/opportunities that have been drawn.
The typeface was then given to the 2020/21 year group to explore type further by creating their own characters to be added to the identity. The common thread being they’d use the same grid system set up, providing consistency throughout the ever developing identity.
The workshop concept to be carried out with the course in order to develop the font, is shown below accompanied by the grid sheets used to maintain the fonts grid system.
